Why blog?
I believe that blogging would be a useful tool for our Children’s Ministry staff and volunteers for a number of adaptable reasons mentioned in the Richardson textbook.
The first usage I believe we should implement would be using blogs as a staff & volunteer collaboration tool. Specifically,
· Teacher training and mentoring
· “Group Therapy” that allows reflection on the teaching experiences
· Lesson plan collaboration & sharing of teaching tips
· How-to documentation for using certain technology
The second usage I believe we should implement would be using blogs as an outreach and training tool for our children and the world. We could:
· Post class related materials for children’s who were unable to attend class.
· Showcase student gifting & talents.
· Provide online reading, games, etc.
Blogging can be a useful tool to help Children’s Ministers to fulfill Jesus’ command in Matt 26:19 to “Go and make disciples of all nations.”
